U.S. Army Corps of Engineers releases Areawide Environmental Impact Statement addressing phosphate mining in Central Florida Phosphate District

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced today that the final Areawide Environmental Impact Statement (AEIS) addressing phosphate mining in the Central Florida Phosphate District (CFPD) has been completed and released. Settlement reached in Clean Water Act violation

A 2006 Clean Water Act violation case against Century Homebuilders has been closed with the receipt of payment of $400,000 in civil penalties plus the purchase of $60,000 in mitigation credits from Everglades National Park. The penalties were assessed in a 2010 consent decree (CD) between the U.S. District Court in Miami and Century Homebuilders when Century Homebuilders failed to fulfill its commitment to enhance 47 acres of wetlands associated with a residential development in the city of Doral, Miami-Dade County, Fla. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reissues permit for Cape Coral docks and seawalls

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Jacksonville District today reissued Programmatic General Permit (PGP) SAJ-91, authorizing the city of Cape Coral to process permits for the construction, maintenance, and repair of single-family docks and seawalls along the city shoreline.
