Public comments will be accepted through May 4, 2020.
  • Corps hosts scoping meetings for proposed dredging and beach renourishment in Bal Harbour

    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District will host two National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) public scoping meetings on November 20, regarding proposed dredging and potential sand sources that could be utilized to provide sand for the renourishment of the Bal Harbour beach. Public comments will be accepted through December 24.
  • Intracoastal Waterway maintenance dredging at Bakers Haulover starts soon

    Bal Harbor Beach to benefit from problematic shoal! A U.S. Army Corps of Engineers maintenance dredging project within the Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) Bakers Haulover area will start as early as Nov. 18. According to Corps IWW Project Manager Shelley Trulock, the Bakers Haulover reach is one of the top three shoaling areas along the entire IWW. "We have an opportunity to dredge the IWW and put sand on eroded beaches in Miami-Dade County at no cost to the local communities,” she said.
