Engineers Julio Soto, Edgardo Bermudez and Nelson Ramos, along with representatives from the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica, conducted assessments at the Carite Dam in Guayama, Puerto Rico and the Lucchetti Dam in Yauco, Puerto Rico, Jan. 15, 2020. The joint team looked for any changes in the structural and geotechnical conditions of the dams (i.e., crest and slopes conditions, bridge, valve house, pipe encasement, etc.), following seismic activity.
