1. DESCRIPTION

The Stevenson Creek drainage basin encompasses approximately 6,000 acres in central Pinellas County including 3,500 acres of developed land in the western portion of the City of Clearwater. This environmental restoration effort proposes to restore the Stevenson Creek by developing a dewatering site and removing muck sediment in the estuary, between the North Fort Harrison Avenue Bridge and the Douglas Avenue Bridge in the City of Clearwater, Pinellas County, Florida. Stevenson Creek empties into Clearwater Harbor at the North Fort Harrison Bridge. Section 206, of the 1996 Water Resources Development Act, authorizes this project.
