1. DESCRIPTION

The project consists of a channel 8 feet deep and 60 feet wide from that depth in the Gulf of Mexico to mile 1.5 in Barron River, with a turning basin about 0.5 acres in area near the upper end. The length of the project is about 9.2 miles. Public Law 86-645, approved on July 14, 1960, authorized the improvement of the Everglades harbor and channel in Collier County, Florida, in accordance with House Document No. 147, 86th Congress, First Session.

4. STATUS

Everglades Harbor was last dredged in 1965. FY23 DRSAA appropriations were made available to begin preparing plans and specifications for an upcoming maintenance dredging event.
