4. STATUS
Lee County beaches were impacted from Hurricane Irma. The project received FCCE funding from the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, and construction was completed in June 2019. USACE was also able to work closely with Lee County to incorporate additional non-federal sand placement on an important park facility resulting in mitigation of erosion risk, increased recreational and economic benefits, and cost savings to federal, state and local partners.
